Dr Maj Qazi Taqweem ul Haq Retd received COAS Gold Medal from Army Burn Hall College Abbottabad in 1983 by standing First in FSc. He completed MBBS in 1988 from Army Medical College Rawalpindi and was commissioned as a Captain in Pak Army. After house job he served in Siachen Glacier and the adjoining northern areas of Karakoram. There he studied the effects of high altitude on human health and gained vast experience in managing the life threatening and limb threatening conditions over the glaciers.

He was next posted to AFIC and MH Rawalpindi where he completed his post graduate studies in Internal Medicine. He served as a Medical Specialist in CMH Abbottabad, CMH Hyderabad, MH Rawalpindi etc. During his professional career he has been singlehandedly managing grave emergencies from all fields of medical profession. He has been teaching High Altitude Medicine to troops in the Northern Areas.

Presently serving as an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine in Women Medical College Abbottabad since December 2016 to date.
