Breast Cancer Awareness with Free Checkups at WMC & Jinnah Hospital
Woman Medical College Abbottabad and Jinnah International Hospital Abbottabad are coming together for a very special cause. From 20th October to 10th November 2023, they’re running a program to raise awareness about breast cancer. During this time, all women can get a free checkup. The check-up dates are on the 20th of October, 27th of October, 3rd of November, and 10th of November 2023, between 10:00 AM and 01:00 PM. A caring lady doctor will be there to look after you, and they’ll provide free tests like ultrasound, x-ray, and mammography.
We also want to share some important information about breast cancer:
It’s important to know the early warning signs of breast cancer. Have you or your family had a history of breast cancer? Have you noticed any swelling or thickness in your breast? Redness or pitting around the nipple area or on the breasts should not be ignored. Any unusual lumps in the breast or under the arm need attention. Keep an eye out for changes in the colour of your breast. If you notice nipple discharge other than breast milk, please get it checked. Don’t ignore an irritated or itchy breast. Peeling or flaking of the nipple skin is something to discuss with the doctor. Redness or pitting of the breast skin is a sign to be aware of. Occupational history, like working in a radiotherapy department, is also important to know.Let’s support each other and take care of our health!
